Royal Bhutan Army from different wings reported to the Institute on 5/11/18 to pursue Carpentry Short Course for a month. The opening ceremony was graced by the Principal with the welcoming note regarding the importance of skilled workers to contribute to the national building as a whole. Moreover, on the first day of the training, they are briefed with the Institute norms to have training delivered expectedly, meeting the national goals. The Vice principal also shared the common goals that the Institute shares with the Royal Bhutan Army, as the Royal Bhutan Army was trained for various society for the past few years.

The Officials from Ministry of Work and Human Settlement has been guiding the trainees to perform Earth Raming with the help of modern technology with effect from 21st to 26th October 2018. All the first Year trainees where involved with the curiosity to learn machine operated earth raming which replaced the traditional Earth Raming.
The Institute received Mr Prem as an expert from Thailand with the help of FFT (Friends From Thailand). He will be indulging in Carpentry trade as he was qualified in Interior Design for a year. The family of Technical Training Institue of Chumey was extremely happy to welcome him with the hope of strengthening the teaching-learning process with the exchange of skills that they possess and to strengthen the friendship between two countries. Additionally, the Institute was extremely happy to have Mr Pema as a newly recruited cook.
Royal Bhutan Army from different wings joined Technical Training Institute Chumey for short course Training in Carpentry and Masonry. Institute offered 2nd Batch short course to RBA wherein previous year, the institute offered for Plumbing. This Year institute received 20 RBA trainees for two trades respectively.
Y-PEER Chumey coordinated cleaning campaign on International Youth Day with the theme “Safe spaces for Youth”. The participants are Y-PEER club members and some of the interested faculty joined the cleaning campaign where they covered 8 km collecting waste alongside the road and stream. The campaign was fully funded by the Department of Youth and Sports under the Ministry of Education. However, the participants are served with the refreshments from various benefactors and shops.
New trainees reported to the Institute on 31st July 2018. They are received by the seniors and management of the Institute. There are 80 trainees enrolled for various trade for National Certificate Level II. They will be oriented vigorously about the Institute norms and culture for two weeks before they really begin with their academic session. They are also given an overview of TVET and its significance in a country with the opportunity that they have as a technical graduate.
Based on the announcement, Institute received a good number of NC III participants for carpentry, Masonry and Plumbing. NC III regular course was started on 1st July 2018.
Training of Trainers for the Plumbing department is started today at Technical Training Institute of Chumey. The training will majorly focused on copper and familiarizing advanced tools of Japan. The resource person Mr. Masanobu Watanabe (Junior JICA volunteer) has managed the tools and equipment from JOCV to make the trainings effective and enriching. The participants are from Jigme Wangchuck Power Training Institute and Technical Training Institute of Chumey. As proposed by TTIC, TPSD agreed to make the Training happen for a week.
Chief Executive officer of Construction Development Cooperation Limited visited the institute on 11th may 2018. The visit was majorly focused on linkage and broadening of work sphere through entrepreneurship encouraging our trainee graduates.
Institute observed Zorig day with Institute Rimdo on 29th April, 2018. The rimdo was presided by His holiness Tang Rinpoche and monks from Chumey Pang Drastang.
